New hotfix released to correct edb corruptions

A new hotfix has been released on 30th April to fix an issue with edb corruption (Management servers or assigned agents unexpectedly appear as unavailable in the Operations Manager console in Windows Server 2003 or Windows Server 2008). It promises to fix those strange errors we sometimes get that force us to scratch the local agent database. It is actually an OS fix for:

  • Windows Server 2003 SP2
  • Windows Server 2008 SP2

So you must first apply service pack 2 to both platforms. A 2008 R2 fix is not here yet, it will depend on customer demand and it will probably be included in Service Pack 1.

Strongly recommended.
