System Center 2012 Service Pack 1 Update Rollup 1 – Operations Manager

The KB has been corrected on Jan 25th, 2013 – so the MP mess is now properly documented.

Quick post for a few caveats I found on SP1 UR1 (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2785682).

Do not install the update rollup package immediately after you install the System Center 2012 SP1 server. Otherwise, the Health Service state may not be initialized.

The KB states the management pack to be updated are the following:

  • Microsoft.SystemCenter.DataWarehouse.Library.mpb
  • Microsoft.SystemCenter.Visualization.Library.mpb
  • Microsoft.SystemCenter.WebApplicationSolutions.Library.mpb

Alas they are not, the updated management packs are

  • Microsoft.SystemCenter.AlertAttachment.mpb
  • Microsoft.SystemCenter.IntelliTraceProfiling.mpb

And you can find them in %ProgramFiles%\System Center 2012\Operations Manager\Server\Management Packs for Update Rollups

More if you try to import the IntelliTrace one it will miss some dependencies

From what I know it seems not to have any new feature, so you can safely skip it, and anyway right now it is not possible to import it altogether.
