#Azure and #MSOMS notable updates w50

IoT is growing with the new onprem gateway sdk and IotHub for device management now GA

More enhancements to the #AzureAD Admin experience in the new Azure Portal (https://blogs.technet.microsoft.com/enterprisemobility/2016/12/09/more-enhancements-to-the-azuread-admin-experience-in-the-new-azure-portal/) I want to point out the “Bring your own password SSO” addition to publish via Azure AD Application proxy form based authentication apps.

Azure DocumentDB is indeed a NoSQL platform I don’t know anything about :-) they introduced change feed support where basically you can subscribes to changes in the ingested data from you applications. Interesting and something to keep an eye on if you need to ingest large stream of application data.(https://azure.microsoft.com/en-us/blog/introducing-change-feed-support-in-azure-documentdb/)

A new scenario opens for StoreSimple: We are pleased to announce that backup-to-disk workloads will be supported on the StorSimple 8000 Series devices running Update 3 or later! Veeam is supported as weel as BackupExec and NetBackup, DPM is not :-(.

Log Analytics now supports monitoring of VMWare VSphere 6.5 (https://blogs.technet.microsoft.com/msoms/2016/12/14/vmware-monitoring-solution-updates/)

Management Pack for Microsoft Windows Server 2012 Internet Information Service 8, 7.0.10247.0 (https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=34767)

Microsoft System Center 2016 Management Pack for WSUS, 7.1.10128.3 (https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=54509)

Microsoft System Center Management Pack for Internet Information Service 2016, (https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=54445)

This is not good, Hotfix 1 for System Center 2016 Virtual Machine Manager Update Rollup 1(https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/3208888?sd=rss&spid=13859), really don’t do that again, stick to update rollups and that’s it. The issue solved is no critical in any way, affects a super small customer group that have different version of WIndows Server 2016 deployed, and there’s even a workaround. Not a good idea at all.
