This is what I call a packed full week. Tons of new releases and improvements.
Azure Network Watcher is a long overdue tool to troubleshoot network connectivity in Azure. It’s great but don’t get too excited, currently is only available in US West Central, US North Central and US West. Waiting for more widespread availability and integration with MSOMS.
Loading files from Azure Blob storage into Azure SQL Database is now in public preview.
Azure Functions Proxies are now in public preview. This new capability makes it easier to develop APIs by using Azure Functions
And finally Azure AD group-based license management for Office 365 is in public preview. With this new feature you can define a “license template” and assign it to a security group in Azure AD. Azure AD will automatically assign and remove licenses as users join and leave the group and get rid of custom automation that mimic the feature.
Kubernetes now Generally Available on Azure Container Service Kubernetes is now Generally Available as one of three choices of orchestrator.
Network Performance Monitor NPM – a cloud aware network monitoring service in OMS is Generally Available. The service currently monitors networks across Azure and hybrid networks and enables administrators to quickly identify the specific network segment or device, that may be causing the performance degradation and outages.
I just stumbled into it this morning, I don’t the exact release date, but now log analytics supports regular expressions for field matching.
OMS Container Solution extended to monitor Windows Server and Hyper-V Container
Azure SQL Analytics solution is now in public preview.
Update Rollup 2.1 for System Center 2016 Virtual Machine Manager bug fixing on top of UR2.
Update Rollup 2 for System Center 2016 Operations Manager this is a bug fixing release.
New realease for System Center Management Pack for UNIX and Linux Operating Systems version 7.6.1072.0 includes agents with version 1.5.1-242 fro SCOM 2012 R2 and agents with version 1.6.2-337 for SCOM 2016.
Update Rollup 2 for for System Center 2016 Service Manager contains several bug fixes pertaining to the exchange connnector and self service portal.
