#Azure and #MSOMS notable updates week 34/17


We have better control on Diagnostics, now we have the flexibility to route diagnostics to a storage account, Log Analytics or Event Hubs with the ability to pick and choose which information is routed to which destination. This is achieved creating multiple diagnostic settings.
We can even consolidate diagnostics across subscriptions, for example we can send all our audit events across all subscriptions to a common Log Analytics workspace (the subscriptions must be in the same tenant). Read more

With the public preview of Azure Archive Blob Storage and Blob-Level Tiering Azure storage offerings get welcome additions. Archive storage adds to hot and cool tiers a new offer for rarely accessed data at a low cost (which unfortunately is not yet public). Plus you can now change your blob tier (hot, cool or archive) on the fly, without the need to move data between storage accounts.Read more

Container Monitoring solution general availability

You can now manipulate your App Insights data with Jupiter Notebook. I must say I didn’t know about Jupiter:

The Jupiter Notebook is an open-source web application that allows you to create and share documents that contain live code, equations, visualizations and explanatory text. Uses include: data cleaning and transformation, numerical simulation, statistical modeling, machine learning and much more

The idea is to apply some business logic to your gathered data and push back some summary you can use for alerting. Interesting.
