#Azure notable updates week 26/20


Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) introduces (preview) proximity placement groups. This way all the worker nodes can be placed in the same datacenter and thus “near” in networking terms.

Database engine auditing for Azure Database for MariaDB and MySQL is now GA. It allows to ingest audit logs to record database activity and events such as connections and queries into Azure Monitor Diagnostic Logs. Also you have the option to retain logs in Azure Storage.

Speaking of integration with Azure Monitor, Azure Load Balancer has now a “solution” to gain insights in performances, health and configuration, integrated in Azure Monitor.

Defender ATP for Linux and Android is finally GA, this position Microsoft solution as an effective cross platform ATP, if ou include the integration between Defender ATP and MCAS and Sentinel you start to have a comprehensive picture across all your artifacts and endpoints.

Azure Front Door and Azure Content Delivery Network can now use the rule engine to perform header manipulation and redirection. The feature as long been in preview and now it enters general availability

As a side note Azure CosmosDB adds case-insensitive functions.
