#Azure notable updates week 37/20

Approaching Ignite things are getting quiet on Azure, nevertheless we have a few interesting releases and GAs.

Azure Sentinel product group continues to add new connectors to simplify data ingestion, this week we have:

Azure Files will soon provide SMB multichannel putting it on par of a Windows Server SMB stack at least in this respect. The page is currently returning a 404 error, but the news has been out for some time. Keeping our focus on the storage platform, Azure Blob storage object replication and the enabling technology change feed are both GA.

In the meantime Query Acceleration for Azure Data Lake Storage has reached the GA status.

Automatic VM guest patching for Windows VMs in Azure is in preview. This is a light weight platform service that addresses critical and security patches. It is fully automated complying with availability sets and update domains. Azure Update Management offers you much more control and includes Linux VMs. I can understand it can be useful in highly redundant and automated environment, still I prefer to keep control of the patching process.
