This post will be mainly focused on Azure Monitor. The release cycle for Azure Monitor Insights is getting to an interesting pace. Many Insights have been released and many more are on the way. Azure Monitor Insights are specialized monitor modules that promise to five a comprehensive view and monitoring experience for specific Azure workloads. Who, as me, has been a SCOM architect can think of Insights as the Azure Monitor Management Packs. Now this is an important step up for Azure Monitor. The strongest selling point for SCOM was it was ready out of the box with proper monitoring rules, Azure Monitor until the release of the first insights lacked this vision. It was a blank page with interesting brushes you could use to have your own painting. Frankly this cannot be the case for a modern monitoring solution. Albeit slowly Azure Monitor is getting there.
Azure Monitor Insights for Windows Virtual Desktop is now GA
Azure Monitor Network Insights coverage over ExpressRoute is now GA..
Other Azure Monitor Insights available in preview are:
While other GA insights are:
Moving from Azure Monitor, you can now deploy Azure Static Web Sites with Azure DevOps (preview)
AKS now supports Kubernetes 1.20, on a related and equally important release, you can now test node auto-upgrade in preview.
Azure blob Storage encryption scopes let you encrypt with different encryption keys at the container and blob level within the same storage account. You can now isolate customer data without defining a different storage account for each customer.
